Join our authors while we virtually stop by one of our favorite San Francisco organizations, Shanti Project. ‘When Dogs Heal’ author Dr Robert Garofalo and photographer Jesse Freidin will be in conversation with moderator Mary Ann Krisa for what is sure to be a moving book event.

Shanti exists to enhance the health, quality of life and well-being of people with terminal, life-threatening or disabling illnesses or conditions. Through a continuum of services, including in-home and onsite patient and care navigation, emotional and practical support and preserving the human-animal bond, Shanti strives to achieve the highest medical and quality of life outcomes for San Francisco’s most vulnerable. Pets Are Wonderful Support, a program of Shanti Project, provides free comprehensive support services for pets of seniors and individuals living with disability or illness.
